Polarization-Sensitive Structural Colors Based on Anisotropic Silicon Metasurfaces

Structural colors based on all-dielectric metasurfaces hold great promise for a wide range of applications, including high-density optical storage, ultra-high-resolution 3D displays, imaging security certification, and so on. However, achieving dynamic tunable structural color with compact simple Si platform remains challenge. Here, we propose coloration polarization-sensitive consisting arrays elliptical nanopillars, enabling full-colored images to be displayed switched through the control polarization incident light. A distinct feature our design is that phase independent viewing angle, which fundamental real applications. Moreover, demonstrated dual multiple can obtained by varying angle either polarizer or analyzer. Our scheme provides yet general approach potential applications in fields virtual reality, information storage.
